The Watch Hill Lighthouse guides ships at sea, offering safety and reassurance. Its dark presence reflects my connection with God. I sense a greater structure and energy, but surrendering to it isn’t easy.

I took this photograph with a pinhole lens on a 5×7 field camera. I thought I exposed it for 30 minutes, but I was actually off by 28 minutes! Using farmers reducer helped me create a printable image. The timing mistake and inconsistencies in the reduction ended up making the image more impactful than I intended. God’s peace is steadfast, and what I put between me and it is the problem.
