Practice, practice, practice / by Ron Cowie

The best advice is to keep a camera with you as often as possible. This is a good thing and the reason is simple: it keeps you sharp. I’ve been focused on a lot of other creative pursuits and then I thought I could just take a 4x5 camera out and have the magic reappear as if it was a light switch. Not true.

So, I’m back to using a smaller camera to “sketch” with. It is important to get into the habit of formally seeing things again. It doesn’t take much time and I find the “mindful observation” to be quite helpful in other aspects of my daily life.

I post these images here for the fun of it.
